Our Purpose

What is at the Root?

At Congregation Or-Ami we live by the simple idea that we are here to serve the God of Avraham, Yizkaq and Ya'aqov.  We worship, learn, and grow through this service and we accomplish this service by learning, teaching, and doing the Laws, Statutes, Commandments and Testimonies of the Most-High God given to the Hebrews (Children of Israel) by his servant Moses, through the historic records of his Prophets and Prophetesses, and Judges. They inform us how we are to live within and without our Country as well as throughout the Diaspora. They inform us how we are to interact with others: compassionately and graciously, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness and truth;”—a model to all we meet.

Our Community

Yisra'el

In 2019, Congregation Or-Ami, in solidarity with all Hebrew-Israelite communities across the United States of America, acknowledged the passage of Four hundred years -400 years- of enslavement (captivity) and bondage.  We also recognized that our immediate community is the family that comprises Congregation Or-Ami and our collective community is all the families of the Children of Avraham, Yizkaq, and Yisra'el and Yishmael in the Diaspora all across the earth. Our community, it is all who are in solidarity with all those who serve the Power of Avraham, Yizkaq, and Ya'aqov---"Shalom aleikiym w'Aleikiym Shalom."

Our Mission

We have Complete Trust. . .

that at Congregation Or-Ami the original design of the Creator is for us to be a light to our ourselves, to all Hebrew-Israelites, and to the nations of people living in darkness.  We do this by maintaining our culture (way of life) as well as by introducing all to the observation and practice of the Torah of the Only True Power of the universe---the Power of Avraham, Yizkaq, and Ya'aqov.that by learning and studying the books of the Law and of the Prophets and of the Judges left on record for us that we can have a deeper and stronger understanding of what is required of us.that by actively studying within the Torah and the whole Tanakh as well as authentically practicing our culture, along with our continued efforts to provide for the less fortunate among us (in any way possible), then this will cause not only our growth, but also the growth of humanity as a whole.
